The film The Pieces I Am will be played in Valders 206 located in Valders Hall of Science on Luther College’s campus. The film illustrates and examines the life, themes, and stories of Toni Morrison along with many of her peers, including Oprah Winfrey and Angela Davis. Morrison’s repertoire includes critically acclaimed books such as The Bluest Eyes, Beloved, and Jazz that have given a voice to the hardships and struggles that women of color have faced. The film is to be followed by a discussion moderated by Novian Whitsitt, professor of Africana Studies and English at Luther College.
