Meet the German author Barbara Ortwein
    from Prague, Czech Republic,    
    for a book talk with music, an exhibition, 

     book signing and refreshments !

     Barbara Ortwein will read from her book
    A Summer in Spillville in 1893;
    and  will present her new book project
    about Spillville’s founder Joseph Spielman.

She will tell about the inspiration Dvorak found here, as well as of the man who made this inspiration possible by settling the Bohemians in and around Spillville – Josef Spielman…

Barbara Ortwein will sing and play Czech, American and German songs as well as Dvorak’s music.

Furthermore she will show an exhibition about her research work in Bavaria, Germany, where Joseph Spielman came from.  

The event will be hosted by the Spillville Public Library and the Bily Clocks Museum & Antonin Dvorak Exhibit in Spillville.
