Join us for the 2019 Porter House Museum Lecture Series, featuring film historian Michael Zahs, Professor of Biology Kirk Larsen, and habitat restoration specialist Scott Leddy!

All talks are FREE and open to the public at the Lingonberry in downtown Decorah. Doors open at 7:00PM. Seating is first-come, first-served. A reception will follow each of the Lecture Series presentations.

MICHAEL ZAHS–March 6th
Zahs, the film historian featured in the acclaimed documentary Saving Brinton will demonstrate a historic magic lantern slide projector by recreating one of Decorah resident A.F. Porter’s slide shows of his journeys abroad in the 1910s and 1920s.

Join Luther College Professor of Biology Kirk Larsen for a look at the troubling worldwide decline of insect populations… why is this important? And what might we be able to do to make a positive difference?

SCOTT LEDDY–April 11th
Naturalist, nature photographer, and habitat-restoration specialist Scott Leddy will take us on a visual journey to explore the native pollinators in our area and the prairie flowers that comprise their habitats.
