Decorah Parks and Recreation is excited to add a more toddler-friendly experience to the existing Mary Christopher Park playground, made possible by a generous donor. Construction is currently underway, placing a temporary closure on the park now through Friday, May 10th, or until the project is complete.
Run or walk in Decorah Parks & Recreation’s FREE pop-up 5k Saturday May, 4th thru Sunday May, 5th!
Participants will start/finish at the Dunning Springs Parking Lot, and will follow the signs along Ice Cave Road and into the lower portion of Palisades Park.
Participants will loop back around in Palisades following the paved section back to Ice Cave Road. From there you will have the option to follow Ice Cave Road back to the start, OR challenge yourself by following the River Trail just below Ice Cave Road!

Join us this summer for more Seasons of a Prairie activities!
Prescribed prairie burns will take place on parts of the Decorah Park System this spring. The burns will take place between April 4 and May 10.
Summer registration will open on May 1st at 8:00am.
Join us in a family-friendly scavenger hunt along Ice Cave Road!
Search for Gnomes and other creatures that may be hiding along the trail.
Participants can start their hunt at the Dunning Springs Parking Lot and head towards Ice Cave. The trail will have riddles and clues for you to solve along the way. Once you have reached Ice Cave, follow the trail back towards Dunning Springs to solve new challenges on the way back!

FREE EVENT
Join us on Sunday, March 24th, beginning promptly at 3:00 pm, at Will Baker Athletic Fields. Children find plastic eggs filled with candy or prizes and all egg hunters receive participation gifts at the close of the Hunt. The Easter Bunny will also be there so bring your cameras! After you register online, please stop into the Park Rec office to pick up your Easter basket before the 24th!
