Experience the Joy of the Season at the 24th Annual Decorah Chorale “Home for Christmas” Concert

The Decorah Chorale warmly invites you to its 24th Annual “Home for Christmas” concert on Saturday, December 14, at 7:00 p.m. at Decorah Lutheran Church. This holiday tradition promises an evening of delightful music and festive cheer.

This year’s concert will raise funds for the Winneshiek County Habitat for Humanity and the Decorah Community Food Pantry through a free-will offering. Thanks to the incredible generosity of attendees over the years, the Chorale has raised nearly $45,000 for local charities.

The hour-long program will feature Christmas classics, including While by My Sheep, It Came Upon the Midnight Clear, Bring a Torch, Jeannette, Isabella, The Holly and the Ivy, and I’ll Be Home for Christmas, along with other seasonal pieces. Joining the Chorale as collaborative guest artists are Melissa Bills, Dustin Bliven, Crystal Duffy, Chris Hadley, Peter Kowitz, and Ezra Vorvick. Vocal soloists Kelsey Vanney and Jenny White will add their voices to the evening. To make the night even more special, the Decorah High School Madrigal Singers will perform a selection of Christmas carols as a prelude to the concert.

Admission is free for all, with a free-will offering collected during the performance to support these important local causes.

The Decorah Chorale, led by Jason Rausch with collaborative pianist Nicholas Shaneyfelt, is an eighty-member mixed choral ensemble that brings together voices from Decorah and six neighboring Iowa and Minnesota communities.
