Spring Opera:  The Miller’s Daughter and The Old Maid and the Thief

Luther College Opera Theater is proud to present a double bill featuring two distinct English-language works.
The program includes the tragic opera The Miller’s Daughter, composed by Jodi Goble with a libretto by Victoria Erickson. Based on Franz Schubert’s song cycle Die schöne Müllerin, this production brings a poignant narrative to the stage.
Pairing with this tragedy is Gian Carlo Menotti’s comic opera, The Old Maid and the Thief. This opera buffa offers a comedic narrative that invites the audience to form their own conclusions about morality, as each character’s perspective remains open to interpretation.”
