Event Details

Join Lise for a fun exploration of the Os style (Hordeland) of rosemaling with this colorful design on July 1 and July 8-9. This pattern will be painted on a base-coated Bristol board that will be great for framing and hanging on the wall once the class is complete.

This class will be taught in acrylics.

Vesterheim’s rosemaling classes are supported in part by the Wilma A. Anderson Endowment for Rosemaling.

Lise Lorentzen’s love of rosemaling began at the age of 11 during her first class at the local Sons of Norway Lodge. Her rosemaling can now be found throughout the United States, Canada, and Norway, and she has had the great fortune to attend classes with many renowned Norwegian and American rosemaling artists, including an apprenticeship with Eldrid Arntzen (Vesterheim Gold Medalist) in 2009. Lise has been awarded nationally for her work and continues to share rosemaling through her commission pieces, galleries and shows, social media and teaching. Lise has a B.A. in art history and elementary education and an M.S. in special education. A former educator in New York City, she now resides in Maryland with her husband, three kids, and two dogs.
