Know-How: Basic Plumbing Repairs

Sure, you learned about fluid dynamics, ancient religions, statistics, personality disorders and the history of Russia in college. But where are you supposed to learn how to maintain your car or paint a room or fix your clothes? Join ArtHaus and Decorah Public Library for KNOW-HOW, a new monthly series of hands-on workshops to learn all the stuff you’re “supposed to know by now.”  

We’ll gather on Sunday, October 11 at 2 PM at ArtHaus to learn a new skill in a welcoming environment designed to build a community of learners. Registration required at https://www.decorahlibrary.org/events/know-how-basic-plumbing-repairs.

October’s KNOW-HOW will focus on plumbing! Over time, a leaky toilet valve can cost you hundreds of dollars on your water bill. Luckily, you can fix it yourself with a little KNOW-HOW and 15 bucks. We’ll also learn about how to disassemble the trap under your sink, so you can finally get that ring you lost a couple of months ago. And finally, we’ll help you put together a basic toolkit for your house.   

No more dealing with YouTube ads as you’re trying to figure out what kind of insurance you need or sheepishly asking your dad how to change a tire at 3 AM. In the middle of nowhere. While it’s raining. Grow confidence in your skills, ask questions, make mistakes, and learn something new at KNOW-HOW!
