RAD is a self-defense system designed for women. It is a series of 3 classes of 3 hours each. Classes will be held from 9 a.m.- Noon on 10/10, 10/24, and 10/31. Free to Luther College students, faculty, and staff, $25 to the public (which covers the cost of the manual).
Class Session 1, Oct. 10: Introductions, what RAD is, and some basic movements
Class Session 2, Oct. 24: Striking movements
Class Session 3, Oct. 31: Breaking holds and ground defense; closing remarks, instructor evaluation
* Participants should wear active clothing and sneakers to class.
In taking the Basic Physical Defense Course (for women), students receive lifetime access to future BPD courses, wherever they are taught and by whoever teaches them (including courses that offer simulation).
