Wisconsin author Susan Apps-Bodilly will give an author presentation and Q&A session followed by a book signing on Tuesday, December 8th at 1:30pm at the Senior Citizen Hospitality Center at 806 River St., Decorah.  Everyone is invited to this free event sponsored by the Oneota Valley Literary Foundation, with support from Senior Citizen Hospitality Center and Dragonfly Books.

In Old Farm Country Christmas, beloved father–daughter team Susan Apps-Bodilly and Jerry Apps (1934-2025) invite readers inside the farmhouse kitchens, one-room schoolhouses, rural churches, and snow-packed fields of Wisconsin, sharing Christmas stories from the Great Depression and World War II through the 1960s. Drawing on vivid family memories, interviews, and historical research, the authors recreate a time when holiday magic was handmade, heartfelt, and shared generously. To celebrate, this event will also feature a cookie exchange. Bring a batch – or two! – of your favorite holiday treat to share.

This event is part of Dragonfly Books and the Oneota Valley Literary Foundation’s robust author event series, which brings top-notch writers of all genres to Northeast Iowa to lead in conversations about literature and writing.
