Primary Role: This position is responsible for the efficient, timely, and accurate coordination of all incoming and outgoing shipments. The ideal candidate should be a detail-oriented individual with proficiency in shipping and business software. This is a regular full-time, non-exempt position.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

●       Track inventory (filled packets, products, etc) using NetSuite software. Assist with cycle counts throughout the year. Monitor online product inventory and replenish as needed

●       Develop relationships with carriers and negotiate favorable shipping rates and services

●       Forecast needed shipping supplies, monitor current inventory, and place orders to ensure seamless shipping through highly variable seasons

●       Print orders and determine shipping priorities to maximize efficiency and ensure timely fulfillment

●       Receive all incoming packages, checking accuracy of paperwork and condition of shipment and routing to the appropriate recipient

●       Sort and deliver incoming mail to respective departments

●       Work closely with Inventory Coordinator for staffing needs and troubleshooting any orders that

are not processing throughout the year and on end of year inventory switchover preparation/execution

●       Assist wherever help is needed in the Seed House during slow shipping months as directed by the Business & Sales Director

●       Provide daily shipping report to Business & Sales Director

●       Coordinate closely with the Lillian Goldman Visitors Center Manager/Assistant Manager when ordering shared inventory to ensure adequate and timely ordering of inventory.

●       Scan and ship all orders via the ShipRush shipping platform to process for shipping in a timely manner.  Work closely with Customer Service Manager and Business & Sales Director to rectify any shipping issues.

●       Input all shipping room purchase orders in a timely manner for approval by the Business & Sales Director.

●       Coordinate all shipping needs with various departments throughout the organization and accurately track associated shipment costs for budgetary purposes.

●       Monitor accuracy of order fulfillment and work closely with Inventory Coordinator and Business & Sales Director to develop and execute best practices with staff.

Qualifications:

●       Detail-oriented person who thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is able to prioritize workloads to maximize efficiency

●       Experience with shipping software and shipping products preferred

●       Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems on-the-go is a must

●       Excellent computer and record keeping skills.

●       Ability to operate a forklift required

●       Valid driver’s license

●       High school diploma or GED

Physical Requirements:

●       Ability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly, and 50 pounds occasionally.

●       Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
